Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision
The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.
The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.
The celebrated game designer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in LA on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"This represents a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and all those touched by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
