The British government is set to progress with employing the full worth of frozen Russia's holdings to aid the Ukrainian defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They clarified that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the US.

UK penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian resources since Russia launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, previously, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had only been taken from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to end the war.

He added that more sanctions soon would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union officials met in the Danish capital previously to debate using seized Russia's holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to confiscate or employ frozen Russia's funds, as reported by news outlets.

The value of seized Russia's funds in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Moscow carried out extensive missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on that day, leading to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement scheme, under which partner nations purchase military equipment from the US to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the Britain's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the program, as well as apply more restrictions on Moscow.
